Guinness World Record at the CAMLOG Congress
|
Dr. A. Kirsch promised "A festival for all senses" in his opening speech at the 1. International CAMLOG Congress in Mai 2006 in Montreux, Switzerland. The promise was delivered on. Not only was it a festival of science, innovation and motivation, it was also a festival of music. The participants were honored with the Guinness World Record for joining the "Largest Music Lesson".
Roland van Straaten, a blues harp virtuoso, opened up the congress for the international participants of the 1. international CAMLOG Congress with a musical bang. The "Oriental Tango" energized the audience even before the first speaker arrived. But at this point in time nobody knew that soon they would become part of the music!
On the occasion of a surprise lesson the participants were asked to also play the presented blues harps. Roland van Straaten played and the audience followed his instructions to join in the tune. Soon everybody was a part of the world's largest music lesson!
This musical intermezzo was more than just fun. After a few weeks everybody received an official statement and a certificate confirming his/her status as a world record holder. A music professor as well as a notary confirmed that 539 music scholars officially participated in this World Record. Not only, but also because of this event, the 1. International CAMLOG Congress will always remain in special memory.
